About the event
The New Silk Road
Thursday 12th November 2026, 7pm. Twelve seats. £79 per person.
Seven countries, seven glasses, one journey east.
Long before France had a wine industry, people were making wine in clay vessels buried in Georgian soil. Eight thousand years later they still are. This evening follows the old trade routes back towards where it all started, taking in grapes most people have never heard of and at least one bottle that should not exist at all.
Hosted by our sommelier, Nataliia Maisieionok.
The flight
Grace Wine, Koshu Hishiyama Vineyard, Japan
Japan’s own grape, grown in the shadow of Mount Fuji. Delicate to the point of being barely there, until it isn’t.
Theopetra Estate, Malagouzia Assyrtiko, Meteora, Greece
Two Greek natives blended beneath the monasteries. Citrus, stone and salt.
Vachnadziani, Rkatsiteli, Georgia
One of the oldest cultivated grapes on earth, still grown where winemaking began.
Beykush, Telti-Kuruk, Ukraine
A grape that grows almost nowhere else, from a winery on the Black Sea coast that has kept working through everything.
Çal Karası, Kuzubağ Blanc de Noirs, Turkey
A white wine made entirely from red grapes. This is the one that will cause arguments.
Bedoba, Saperavi, Georgia
ed flesh as well as red skin, which almost no grape has. Dark, structured and ancient.
Château Musar, Gaston Hochar, Bekaa Valley, Lebanon
The most storied wine in the region, from a producer that continued making it through fifteen years of civil war.
The sommelier’s surprise
One further bottle, chosen personally by Nataliia and revealed only on the night. Nobody at the table will know what is coming, until the moment arrives.
On the plate
Sharing plates drawn from the same lands as the wines. Georgian cheeses, Turkish basturma, Lebanese hummus and dolma, served through the evening.
Twelve seats only. The evening runs from 7pm and lasts approximately two hours. Over 21s. £79 per person, paid at the time of booking.
